DIGESTION SYSTEM:

Digestion system consists of organs responsible for getting food into and out of the body. Digestion system makes use of food to give body energy, growth and cell repair mandatory for human survival. It includes the salivary glands, mouth, stomach, liver, gallbladder, pancreas, small intestine, and rectum.

Main function of the digestive system includes digestion and absorption.

In Digestion food is breakdown into small molecules that are then absorbed into the body.

Two Types of Digestion:

Mechanical Digestion

Chemical Digestion.

Mechanical digestion is primarily physically breaking the food into smaller pieces where in Mechanical digestion begins in the mouth where food is chewed.

Chemical digestion require breaking down the food into simpler nutrients which are used by the cells.
